Each one of these horses has a story. Unfortunately many have an unfortunate story that was brought on by humans. Many of the horses we rescue from auction have been bought and sold multiple times by what we call serial horse traders. These traders buy these horses at one auction and resell at another auction a week or two later to try and turn a quick dollar, not caring where the horse may end up. At Iron D we try and break that cycle by getting these horses out of the system. Once out of the system and at our facility we have them examined by the Veterinarians, vaccinated, teeth floated, and feet trimmed. From there we start the process of determining the horses needs. From nutrition to learning to trust and want to be with humans again are all in the mix as we try to bring these horses back from the brink.
